As usual, a bit of planning is necessary. I didn't have close up pics of the CVA-42, circa 1960-62. So I had to improvise a bit, using the photos I had, and prepared a CAD drawing with the main traffic markings as well as the catapult line:
The work started by scratchbuilding the metal planking of the catapult track:
After that, I added the anti-skid plates using sandpaper, cut in sections:
The result adds a lot the the finished model:
